Strings and Brass

Dark ensemble colour. One note at a time.

Bring bowed texture and brassy weight into electronic music. Strings and Brass contains 16 synthesized string voices and 16 synthesized brass voices, from short articulations to slower ensemble-style tones.

Explore bowed ensembles, spiccato-style attacks, cello-like weight and frozen chamber colours alongside section stabs, warm horns, trombone-like depth and reed-edged brass. These are synth interpretations, not recordings of acoustic orchestral players. The single-note format leaves the harmony to you.

Use in your DAW

Drag the WAV files into a sampler or audio track in a DAW that supports this format. No YGGDRASIL installation is required. These downloads contain WAV audio samples, not synth presets.

These are single-note recordings and drum one-shots, not pre-cut loops. Tempo-synced movement and effects were rendered at 140 BPM. Nominal root labels retain the sound's programmed pitch sweeps, vibrato and harmonic layers. Unpitched or inharmonic material uses a C-trigger label rather than a claimed fixed fundamental.
